Easy & Secure Process Of Dependent Pass Scheme for Family Members

When a family considers relocating to Bangladesh, the foreign employee’s spouse and unmarried children under the age of 21 will be awarded a Dependent Pass scheme in Bangladesh. While the foreign employee will be given an Employment Pass or an Entrepreneur Pass to work lawfully in Bangladesh, each member of the family will need to make a separate application to be considered for a DP.

Unmarried children under 21 years old (both biological children and legally adopted children) of Employment Pass, S Pass, EntrePass, or PEP holders earning at least S$6,000 a month can apply for a Dependent Pass Scheme.

 

If your baby is born in Bangladesh, the hospital will notify the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority of the birth and provide an advice note. You can use these documents to register for a birth certificate. The Special dependent Pass Scheme allows the newborn to stay in Singapore for 6 weeks. A passport for your baby should be obtained from your embassy or high commission during this period.

Bangladesh work visa holders’ common law spouses are not eligible for a dependent pass scheme. Nevertheless, they are usually eligible for a Long-Term Social Visit Pass (LTSVP) if certain conditions are met.

Pass applications can be submitted either online (for dependents of Employment Pass and S Pass holders) or manually (for dependents of EntrePass, Personalised Employment Pass, and Employment Pass (sponsorship) holders). Children on a Dependent Pass Scheme can attend local or international K-12 schools in Bangladesh. Holders of DPs wishing to pursue higher education in Bangladesh must obtain a student visa. Dependent Pass Scheme Holders can apply for permanent residence (PR) in Bangladesh together with Bangladesh work visa holders. The DP holder’s PR application will be approved if the Bangladesh work visa holder’s PR application is approved.
