Job Title: Database Management Officer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Management Officer to oversee the development, maintenance, and security of our company’s database systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database management, data modeling, and data analysis. They should have excellent problem-solving skills and be able to work independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain databases for our company’s systems
- Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity
- Develop data models and data dictionaries for new and existing databases
- Perform database backup and recovery procedures
- Monitor database usage and recommend improvements to increase efficiency
- Implement and maintain database security measures to ensure data confidentiality and integrity
- Collaborate with other departments to understand their data needs and ensure database systems meet their requirements
- Conduct database training sessions for end-users
- Stay up-to-date with emerging database technologies and trends
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proven work experience as a Database Management Officer or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of SQL and database management systems such as Oracle, MySQL, and SQL Server
- Experience with data modeling and data analysis
- Knowledge of database security and backup and recovery procedures
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Professional certification in database management such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), or IBM Certified Database Administrator
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark
- Experience with cloud-based databases such as AWS or Azure
